Ruth Ann Connor

Ruth was born on July 1, 1917 in Toulon, IL to Robert Allen and Katie Jane (Hyde) Crow. She married Thomas Connor on June 13, 1942 in Peoria and he preceded her in death in 1997. Also preceding her in death are one son-in-law, Scott McLuckie; and seven siblings.

Surviving are her children, Martha McLuckie of Bettendorf, IA, Thomas (Helen) Connor of San Carlos, CA, Hugh (Lori) Connor of Holly Springs, NC, Robert (Loretta) Connor of Dalkey, Ireland and Teresa (Alan) Connor of W. St. Paul, MN; 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandchild.

At Toulon High School she was the co-editor of the Toulon “Talon” Year Book, and president of the Hiking Club. After graduating, Ruth worked as a secretary at Caterpillar in Peoria, and later at Ruppman Marketing Services.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Tom were avid golfers, and she had an adventurous spirit for travel. Ruth had an abiding love of Nature, a quick wit and a passion for cultivating deep and lasting friendships. Family was an important touchstone throughout her life. Having raised their five children at 407 Albany, where they lived for 49 years, she and Tom moved to Buehler Home, where she lived for 20 years, as a much loved member of the Buehler community.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11am at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation held at 9:30 – 11am prior to the service. Ruth’s cousin, Sister Mary Dorothea Quinn, C.S.J. will be officiating. Immediately following, burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
