Too sad. We just heard about this. My wife Luma and I were in Peoria July 2023. We made sure to see Sharon. We went to her house and had lunch. We laughed and enjoyed the time as usual. I got to know Sharon since I joined Bradley in 2001. We got to be friends at the family level. She always invited us for the 4th of July and St Patrick. The kids and we loved her very much and she was part of our family. She never missed any family occasions. We stayed in touch even after we moved to St Louis in 2010. We visited each other as we go to Peoria and she came to St Louis. We definitely lost a great friend. We will miss you Sharon.

I treasure the years that our offices were side by side at Bradley. She had great insight on handling student problems and encouraging them with good advise. She often shared with me using her typical sly wit—such as how she was able to convince me late one summer to discard the special Christmas planter that I had on my desk! She stayed professional, even when Liz was one of my students. She had such a vast governmental/civic involvement and when I was first appointed to a Peoria board, I shared one of the first situations with her and her smiling reply was “Welcome to government!” I’m sure that the family will have many wonderful memories, as do I, to balance out the loss.

I just learned of Sharon's passing.  The community has lost a strong and caring individual.  When I was Dean of Engineering at Bradley, she was a member of my "team."  Needless to say, as a new dean I had a lot to learn and Sharon was one of my best resources.  We missed her when she retired and we will miss her much more now.

I remember Sharon when I was a cashier at Bradley. Always enjoyed visiting with her. She always brought a spark with her smile.

I am stunned to learn of Sharon's passing.  What a fun and beautiful soul!  When Liz and I lived together on Moss Avenue, I remember seeing that there was a party at one of the big mansions across the street.  We wanted to check it out and Sharon encouraged us by saying, "Go ahead and go over there... just act like you belong and no one will say anything."  SHE WAS SO RIGHT.... It was a blast.  I have used that advice many times since....  
Her July 4th parties after the parade were always a great time.  I am thankful that she opened her doors to my family and me.  I am blessed to have known her as a colleague and friend.

Sharon was a part of my career at CityLink Peoria for its entirety & she was a dedicated board member for more than 25 years. I valued the professional relationship we had and the friendship we also shared. I send my sincerest condolences to her family & loved ones. She touched many lives through her various community causes & long career at Bradley University.

I'm deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sharon McBride. Her unwavering dedication and passion not only enriched Greater Peoria Mass Transit Board, but also left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. Sharon's kindness, and remarkable ability to inspire those around her will be profoundly missed. 

Reflecting on the 16 years (2007-2023) I had the privilege of serving as CFO alongside Sharon McBride, who graced various pivotal roles such as Chair, Treasurer, Secretary on the GPMTD Board, brings back a flood of cherished memories. Sharon wasn't just a board member; she was the driving force behind our collective success, embodying leadership, foresight, and a commitment to our mission. 

My thoughts are with her family and all who knew her, as we remember a remarkable woman whose life and work were a beacon of excellence.

Condolences to Sharon’s family. I filled Sharon’s position when she retired from Bradley, very BIG shoes to fill. We stayed in touch and continued to proctor engineering exams together until the pandemic.  I loved her sense of humor and wit with a touch of sarcasm. She cared very much about her students and the college and spoke often of her family. She will be greatly missed. Lifting up prayers for her loved ones.

I remember attending the many St. Patrich Day parties at her home as well as fourth of July parties. She was a special lady and very giving in all her coummunity involvement.  I miss her dearly.

To Sharon's family, please accept my deepest condolences.  I had the pleasure of knowing Sharon during my time at CityLink. She was quick to laugh, and I always enjoyed talking with her. She was so proud of her family, and she deeply loved her West Peoria community.  My thoughts and prayers are with you in the days ahead.

My condolences to Sharon's family.  I am so sorry she's gone but if she was suffering, I'm glad she is no longer struggling.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Sharon for 7 years. I met her through the West Peoria 4th of July Parades as I worked with her planning the events.  I know she was there from the beginning.  I was lucky enough to attend a few of her 4th of July gatherings at her house.  I enjoyed meeting her friends and family. (Hugs)

She was always very kind, and I will remember her fondly.

Sharone McBride had been kind to me from the start of my work at Bradley till her later years for almost 40 years.  She was a good listener and had helped me related to student advising. I am grateful for her including me in many of her family get-togethers for the 4th of July celebrations and CityLink bus rides around West Peoria, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Liz’s marriage, and many more.  She will be dearly remembered.

I worked with Sharon for about 13 years at Bradley. She was an awesome caring person   She helped so many students…(and help me in so many ways) I can’t even imagine. Glad she is at peace and I will remember and miss her.

Sharon McBride was a big part of the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University for many years. I knew her well and worked with her as a faculty member and an academic advisor as a caring person with a quick and welcoming smile. She always had the students' best interests at heart. 

I saw her last year at an event and we reminisced about her time here. 

Those of us who knew her well will miss her.
