

Suzanne Riedesel, age 86, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Skyline. She was born January 22, 1939, in Peoria, the daughter of Harold and Virginia (Armstrong) Arnold. They preceded her in death along with her son, Eric, daughter Krista, and son-in-law Mark Biernath.
She married Edwin Riedesel in Peoria on November 18, 1961.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, a sister Diane (Jerry) Sweeden of Toulon Illinois and a brother Steve (Beth) Arnold of Young Harris, Georgia, daughter in-law Alyce and grandchildren Adelaide, Lorelei and Harrison in Jupiter, Florida and Kelsey Biernath of Hoschton, Georgia.
Suzanne graduated from Woodruff High School in 1957, Mid State College of Commerce, and worked at Honeywell Office as a secretary in Peoria and later volunteered at Methodist Hospital newborn unit. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the church’s Rebecca Circle. Her hobbies included China painting, flower arranging, home decorating, antique doll collecting.
Suzanne enjoyed living and driving in Japan for three years while her husband worked at a Caterpillar subsidiary. This included travel to Hong Kong for year-end celebrations, shopping trips to China, Korea and other distant vacation locations. While in Japan she completed the first course of study in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. She later traveled to many foreign destinations, creating lifelong memories with her husband after he retired.
During her final years, Suzanne called Apostolic Christian Skylines her home and her family could not be more grateful for the loving, compassionate and unwavering support and personal care they provided her. They also appreciate the support Suzanne received from the OSF Hospice team.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Rev. Richard Wehrs will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First English Lutheran Church, Apostolic Christian Skyline of Peoria, or Lutheran Hillside Village of Peoria.
