Thomas E. Bishop

He was born August 15, 1932 in Decatur, MI a son of Bertis E. and Ida Petcher Bishop. He married Janet M. Manz on March 25, 1978 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Cheryl (George) Toner of Strongville, OH; two grandsons, Travis Toner and Justin Toner both of Strongville, OH; one brother, Richard (Betty) Bishop of Reedsport, OR; one sister, JoAnne Oberhauser of Milwaukie, OR; one niece; and three nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, T. Eric Bishop, three brothers, and three sisters.

Thom was employed in the Engineering Department at WABCO in Peoria retiring in 1987.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. Pastor Ted Benson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
