

He was born Sept. 9, 1927 in Sorento, IL to Walter and Ada (Laken) Smith. He married June L. Cole in Peoria on March 30, 1947. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2010. He later married Joy DeAngelis in Dunlap on Oct. 8, 2011. She survives.
Also surviving are his four children, Deanna (Michael) Denny of Peoria, Cheryl (Chuck) Ellis of Bakersfield, CA, Tom Smith of Peoria, Laurie (Douglas) Graham of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Reita) Smith of NM, and Raymond Smith of AL. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and one sister.
Thomas was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was the co-owner and operator of S&K Chevrolet in Peoria from 1974 to 1998. He was a member of the Peoria Metro Dealers Association, Peoria Christian Businessmens Association, North Suburban Kiwanis where he was honored for over 40 years of service, and several other area organizations.
He was also a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria where Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 with Rev’s. Fred Doughty and Jerry Lubrano officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with further visitation one hour before services at his Church on Saturday morning. Entombment will be at Springdale Cemetery Mausoleum in Peoria.
Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
