Willard John Benson

He was born March 24, 1950 in Chicago, the son of Willard Francis and Lillian Annabelle Holzle Benson. He married Connie Aronhalt on December 22, 1988 in Peoria.

Williard is survived by his wife of 26 years; one son William of Peoria; one daughter, Nicole of Peoria; two sisters, Terri Schiff of St. Louis, and Veronica (Joe) Hertel; and two brothers, Mark Benson of St Petersburg, FL, and John (Nadine) Allison of Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Lee Cheney; and one brother, Charlie Benson.

Willard was a Vietnam Army Vet. He was also a member of American Legion Post 979, and Bartonville VFW.

He was a police officer for the Village of Bellevue in the late 70’s.

Willard was a proud UAW member, and retired from Caterpillar in 2003 as a technician at Mossville.

He was a loving husband and father with the biggest heart. Willard was a strong man of faith, and had a passion for outdoors and could hook a fish like no other.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 7, 2015 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1-4:00pm. Also at the chapel. Father Alexander Millar will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
