William "Bill" Board

Bill was born on January 15, 1945 in Hammond, IN to David and Joyce (Rasbun) Board.

He attended Peoria High School before joining the United States Air Force in 1963.

Bill married Sharon (Moreland-Hoffman) Board in Peoria, IL on March 18, 1967. She survives. Also surviving are his 3 children; Cathy (John) Morgan of Peoria Heights, Joseph Board of Peoria, and Randy ( Darnell) Board of West Peoria, 5 grandchildren; Danny, Johnnie, Chris, Brittany, and Corey, 3 great grandchildren; Hailey, Jaylynn, and Jesica. Survivors also include his three brothers; Ben Board of East Peoria, Tim Board of Trivoli and Kerry Board of Washington, along with his father, Dave Board. Preceding him in death was his mother, Joyce Board.

From a young age, Bill was surrounded by cars. He loved street cars and antique cars. He turned this love of cars into a profession. In 1972 Bill opened Board Auto body. Bill owned and operated this auto shop until 2001 when he passed it on to his two sons. Although he was not the owner, Bill continued to work at Randy’s collision until 2014, well into his illness. This determination and work ethic did not go unnoticed. The best thing Bill passed down to his children was not his auto shop, but the work ethic he instilled in his children.

Funeral service for Bill will be on Saturday August 8, 2015 at 11 am at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A visitation will be held before the service from 9-11am. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery following the services. Memorials can be made to the family.
