

He was born on March 17, 1927 in Galesburg, IL to William and Alice Johnson Loring. Bill married Patricia Hug on June 17, 1950.
Bill was a World War 11 veteran serving with the US Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and the Philippine Liberation. He was a graduate of Knox College and a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Bill was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Peoria for 35 years and served as an elder. He is currently a member of First Federated Church in Peoria.
Bill was first employed by Carver Lumber Company, then later worked for Caterpillar for 29 years until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia, his children: Robyn (David) Stratton of Raleigh, NC, Bonnie Mylott of Washington, IL and William G. Loring of Ft. Collins, CO, his 5 grandchildren: Brea (Phillip) Salib of Greensboro, NC, Anthony Mylott of San Francisco, CA, Timothy (Brooke) Mylott of Washington, IL, Clayton (Chyra) of Leland, NC and Alexis Stratton of Columbia, SC, his 3 great grandchildren: Raelee Mylott, Caden Mylott and Nathan Stratton, his brother: Cliff Loring and his sister: Rosalyce Smith, both of Spring Valley, CA.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
A service of remembrance for Bill will be at 12:00P.M.Friday, April 9, 2010 at First Federated Church in Peoria.
Visitation will be from 10:00A.M.until time of services at the church on Friday.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens with military honors being accorded.
