

He was born on January 21, 1942 in Decatur, IL to Stanley and Elsie (Kurek) Martin. He married Judy Johnson on July 12, 1991 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Judy of Peoria, five children, Kim (Alan) Pearson of CA.; Scott (Dana) Martin of Roscoe, IL; Tim Martin of Morton; Heather (Fred) Thomas of Bloomington; and Josh (Brittney Lowe) Beall of Deer Creek, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Dana, Michael, Campbell, Hudson, Tracy, Anthony and Vincent; three great-grandchildren, Reagan, Levi and Rylee, one brother, Wayne (Barb) Martin of Springfield, IL, several nieces and nephews and his beloved cats, Percy and Kramer.
Bill graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and worked as an accountant with Caterpillar Inc., for over 36 years before retiring in late 2002. Bill was a member of Northwood’s Community Church, where he served as an usher and was a team leader of Celebrate Recovery. He was a trained Asst. Chaplain with Pastoral Care at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria and he served on many WATCH teams at Trinity Lutheran Church and several Cursillo teams in the Peoria area. Bill also coached little league baseball in Morton for many years with his best friend “Little Bill.” He will be remembered for his passion for loving and serving people.
Cremation will be accorded and a visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2012 from 3 to 5 pm with a memorial service starting at 5:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Bob Olla will officiate.
