

Alexander J. “Zander” Sarno, age 24, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 2, 2014, in his home. He was born March 1, 1990 to William & Lynn Sarno. He graduated from Perrysburg High School in 2008 where he played football, wrestled, and was a member of their rugby team. He attended Hocking Hills Technical College and was pursuing a degree in Ecotourism and Adventure Travel. Zander loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman including scuba diving, kayaking, sailing, hiking and zip lining. He had an enormous heart and was always helping other people including people he did not know. He had a great knack for making people laugh with his infectious smile.
He is survived by his parents Bill and Lynn; his brother, Nicholas; sister, Victoria; grandparents, William and Janet Sarno; Uncle Ken (Elizabeth) Haffey, Aunt Janet (David) Niemiec, Aunt Dee (Paul) Colosi, Uncle Tony Sarno, and many loving cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Lucia Haffey of Mayfield Village, and Aunt Clare “Cura” Miro.
Friends and family may visit on Saturday, March, 8, 2014, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) followed by Mass at 1:00 P.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St. in Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
