Agnes "Beth" Elizabeth Stewart Wellwood

WELLWOOD, Beth (nee Stewart) – Surrounded by her loving family, Mom passed away peacefully from our arms, into the arms of our Lord, on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Fairhaven Long Term Care, Peterborough, in her 89th year. Forever loving wife and best friend of the late Pentland “Pent” Wellwood. Hero, deeply loved and remembered mother of Gary (Norma), Len (Colleen), Julie Bannon (Keith), Bill (Patricia), Lois Stranberg (Michael), Betty Merrifield (Ron), and Linda Storey (late husband Steve). Cherished Grandmother of Kelly, Brenda, Jammie, Kacey, Jackson, Simon, Connor, Ryan, Candace, Drew, Lindsey, Sheldon, and Great-grandmother of five. Beth will also be remembered by many other relatives and friends.

Beth was a lifetime member of Northminster United Church. Long-time Sunday School Teacher, Past President of U.C.W. and I.O.D.E. Volunteer with Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario March of Dimes, Reading for the Blind, Meals on Wheels, and many other organizations. A Celebration of Beth’s Life will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 300 Sunset Blvd., Peterborough, on Monday, July 18, at 1:00 pm. Visiting will be at church, one hour prior, from Noon – 1:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street.
