

MacDonald, Alfred Alexander (Al) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Bea (Wood). Devoted father of Anne Normand (Jacques) and Jean Moloney (Frank). “Papa” will be sadly missed by grandchildren Sophie, Max, Sam and Charlie. He is survived by seven brothers and sisters and will be fondly remembered by special sister- and brother-in-law, Helen and David Anderson. Al was the fifth of 16 children. He was born and raised in Prince Edward Island, moving to Brantford, Ontario in 1947 and to Peterborough in 1965. He will be remembered by many relatives and friends for his strong work ethic, his lively sense of humour and his unwavering devotion to his family. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to call at the Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, on Tuesday March 23, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Rev. Father William Moloney officiating. In Al’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the James Fund for Neuroblastoma Research. The MacDonalds are members of the Memorial Society of Peterborough & District.
