Arthur Cecil Gertley

In his 88th year, Dad died peacefully at PRHC on June 5, 2013. Devoted husband of Betty Louise (nee Estlick) (April 11, 2003). Treasured father of Susann Franklin (Herbert), Sara Elchyson (Donald) and Margaret Hartwick (Gerald). Beloved grandfather (aka Big Dad) to Robert Franklin (Cheryl), David Franklin (Karen), Kate Matsumura (Jordan), Colleen Hartwick, Jennifer and Ryan Elchyson. Great-grandfather to Abigail, Elliana & Nathaniel Franklin. Predeceased by parents Cecil and Reliena (nee Killingbeck) and brother of Margaret Adamson. After 44 years as an accountant at G.E., Honey and Big Dad enjoyed cottage life at Deer Bay and wintering in Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Dad was a WWII veteran (RCAF navigator), member of the Peterborough Parks Board, long-term member of the Corinthian Lodge #101 and an active member of Knox United Church. There will be a Masonic Lodge Service at 9:45 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2013 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Interment will follow at Little Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by Arthur’s family.
