KOYANAGI, Avril Margaret (nee Kendall) – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 17, 2011 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Ken for 50 years. Loving mother of Anthony, Gregory, Laura Koyanagi and her husband Michael Demmings, and James and his wife Gail Barrett. Proud Grandma of Nicola, Sam, Claire, Rebecca, Kendall and Rosetta. Born in Toronto, Avril moved to Peterborough with her husband in 1965 to raise their family. She worked at Sir Sandford Fleming and the Peterborough County Health Unit. Avril was an avid quilter, Scrabble player, Line Dancer and Artist who worked in many media. Avril was the recipient of a double lung transplant in 1994 that allowed her to enjoy an additional 16+ years of a wonderful life. Visitation will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 1:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to service from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm.
