Our dear Mom passed peacefully on January 31, 2026 at Station Place long-term care home at the age of 88. Loving wife of Archie (pre deceased). Family matriarch and much-loved mother of Mark (Lisa), Valerie (Dave), Stephanie (Cameron) and Paul (Wendy). Cherished Grandma of Kalen, Alice (Luc), Emma (Alex), Ink (Ellen), Charlie (Morgan), Sarah (Maria), Alex, Steffen, Max, and Tyler. Great Grandma to Iris, Cecelia and Sullivan. Beloved sister of Bill & Elda (pre deceased), and Don & Shirley (survived by Shirley), sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.
Born October 14, 1937 in Peterborough to Bud & Grace Weese, Mom grew up in Peterborough, marrying Archie on June 28th, 1958. She and Dad/Archie had a happy marriage for 62 years, both known for gathering friends & family, having a warm and welcoming home, and kind hearts.
Mom loved living life with laughter, zest, and joie de vivre. Her active life was filled with much family and many friends. She was an athlete at heart, with many sport accolades, favourites including curling, tennis and badminton. We played a multitude of board & card games, but the game of Bridge played a big social role in Mom’s life. Mom also had a creative side with stained glass, flower arranging, ceramics, cooking – her strawberry pies, pecan pies, butter tarts, brownies, banana cake and more were all renowned in the Davidson clan.
Mom celebrated the outdoors, loved living on the farm, gardened with colourful flowers and veggies plus picked berries & apples, and enjoyed cottage life and camping. Mom and Dad cherished their retirement years living on the shores of Rice Lake.
Thank you Mom for giving us our loving sense of family, our values, and so much laughter and fun over the years. You will be dearly missed.
Special thanks to Joyce Laba for her steadfast care of Mom over the last 5 years, and to the staff at Station Place LTC for their care and kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Keene United Church in the Church Hall, 30 North Street, Keene on Sunday Feb 15, 2-4pm with words of remembrance at 2:30pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Keene United Church would be appreciated.
