It is with profound sadness that the family of Bok Yong “Tony” Lee, announces his sudden passing on May 22, in Peterborough, at the age of 78. Born on March 11th in South Korea. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Sam Seon Lee, his son Hae Min Lee (Sheri), and his four grandchildren, Noah, Grace, Amelia, and Jonah. He was predeceased by his daughter Hae Won “Susi” Lee.
Although quiet and reserved he left an impression no matter where his journey led him. A dedicated Minister, Bok Yong and Sam Seon ministered in Peterborough and internationally. As a young man, he served in the South Korean Marine Corps. Later on, he and his family made their home in Peterborough. He retired as a proud small business owner of Sam’s Variety Store in Peterborough.
A private family graveside service was held on May 29th, 2024.
In place of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all the staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre and Hospice Peterborough.
