Brenda fought a courageous battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Brenda was born in Peterborough on April 4th, 1962. She is survived by her husband, Dave. Daughter of June Simmons and Walter Simmons (deceased 2022). Sister of Elizabeth Burfield (Brian) and Walter. Loving daughter-in-law of Ruth and Winston (deceased 2019). Sister-in-law of Shirley Bushby (Mel), Cathy King (Mark), Danny King, and Dwayne King. Brenda was the loving mother of son, Bryan (Alysha), and stepmother of Shane (Erika), Jesse (Jen), and Kaitlynn (Ryan).
She was loved by her 8 grandchildren who lovingly called her “Grandma” – Max, Hazel, Boston, Hailey, Olivia, Tenley, Emmy and Levi. They could always count on Grandma for a cuddle and a cookie. Brenda was the loving aunt and great aunt to over 35 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles. She will be missed by her many friends.
Brenda worked at Christian Horizons Group Home right up until her diagnosis. Her passion was always to help those who needed day to day help to make their lives a bit easier.
Dave and family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at PRHC on GABU and Fairhaven Riverside special care unit for all their devoted care to Brenda.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Sunday July 16th between 2 and 4pm.
