Bryan Stanley Mansell

Cherished husband of Gladys (Blagdon) for over 65 years; peacefully at the Peterborough Retirement Residence, Wednesday, February 25, 2015; surrounded by his loving family. Loving father of Graham Mansell of Orleans, ON and Judith Creally (Gene) of Peterborough. Adored Grandpa of Aaron Creally (Lynette) of Peterborough & Andrew Creally of Toronto. Great Grandpa of Brielle, Cian & Ever Creally. Son of the late Edward Charles & Edith May Mansell (Green). Brother of Ronald (dec.), Barbara (Pat dec.), Margaret (Mike) & Beth (Tony). Bryan was born and raised in Truro, England. Bearing the rank of Sgt. with the British Royal Air Force; he proudly served as a laboratory assistant in the RAF Hospital in the Republic of Singapore, during WWII; in 1957; Bryan & family immigrated to Canada. He worked in Belleville ON for a short duration; relocating to Peterborough in 1958; eventually residing on Barnardo Ave. Bryan served as Chief Laboratory Technologist at the former Civic Hospital from September 1958 until his retirement in October 1987. Both during his career and retirement, he enjoyed family gatherings, photography and travel. Always passionate in supporting family and friends; Bryan served as a blood donor for several years with the Red Cross, reaching the achievement of donating over 100 times. On behalf of Bryan, the family extend our deepest appreciation to the caring staff of Peterborough Retirement Residence in their personal and professional attention to his end of life care. Memorial Service will be held at the Comstock Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon. If so desired, in memory of Bryan, donations may be made to your charity of choice.
