Dorothy Isobel Brooks (nee Perreault) was born on Nov 2, 1925 in Brighton Twp, Northumberland County, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Tom Brooks and her good friend and companion, George Squance. Dorothy was the daughter of Joseph and Eva Perreault (nee Bertrand). She was the oldest of 9 children and was predeceased by Gordon, Shirley (Hardy), Doug, Maurice, (Madelaine nee Aubertin), Paul (Esther) and Richard (Susan). She is survived by her brother Franklin (Margaret) and Robert (Elinor) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nephews and nieces and cousins.
Dorothy always left a great impression on people she met. She very much enjoyed socializing with people at the legion and the army and navy club and in later years at Jackson Creek. She was heavily involved in the Legion and the Army and Navy club events and participated annualy at November 11th Remembrance Day celebrations.
People were always amazed at how independent she was considering she was legally blind. It wasn’t until she was 89 that she moved from her own home into Jackson Creek and there made more friends and endeared herself to the staff. Dorothy will be dearly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Jackson Creek Retirement Home for their care and support of Dorothy during her time there.
