Douglas David Curry left us peacefully at the age of 88, August 20, 2011 at Royal Gardens, Peterborough. Born in Toronto, Doug was the son of the late Harry and Isabel Curry and brother to the late Donald Curry, late Herbert Curry and the late Eileen Curry Cronie. Doug worked for Moore Business Forms for many years in Ontario, the Maritimes and Quebec before retiring back to Peterborough where he continued to sail, paint, carve and make furniture with his buddy Jack that many of us lounge in to this day. Doug is predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, the late Olive Curry (nee Charles). He is survived but will be sorely missed by daughters Elizabeth (Don) Mills (Halifax) and Nancy (Paul) Jack (Oakville) who will continue to love him as he loved us, unconditionally. Grandsons Andrew (Heather) Jack, Doug (Lindsay) Jack, Ben (Andrea) Jack, Michael (Jennifer) Mills and granddaughter Lindsay (Sean) Lewis will miss their Grampa's humour but will carry on his great looks. He also had 6 great grandsons, Liam, Lachlan, Baiden, Gavin, Elliott and Charlie and great granddaughter, Hannah. Doug always felt very blessed with his family and his many close friends. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm followed by a memorial service, to honour Doug's life, at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Flowers gratefully declined, instead please make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Doug's memory. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockfuneralhome.com
