Douglas Braden Nichols

Passed away peacefully with family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in his 73rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane (nee-Donoghue). Forever loved dad to Janette Teal (Brad) and Steven Nichols (Sarah). Cherished grandpa of Kayla, Brayden, Ryan, Miller and Estella. Dear brother to Isobel, and Cindy (Greg) Arrindell and brother-in-law to Jim (Diane) Donoghue, Patricia Curtis, Peter (Lynn) Donoghue, Douglas (Bonnie) Donoghue and Michael (Mary) Donoghue. Predeceased by his parents Melville and Mary Nichols (nee-Rosborough) and siblings Barry and Susan. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Doug was a longtime resident of Otonabee Township, a proud mechanic, enjoyed farming, boating, travelling, spending time with his family and was the first one to give a helping hand. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE.
