Wee Betty, in her 97th year of life, has decided her days of spending time with family and friends, and travelling, has come to an end. She is now with the love of her life, Archie, who left us in 2014. Betty loved to laugh, to dance, to keep a warm home, and to look after her family.
Betty was a true friend to many. In her last few years, many cups of tea and sweets with Margaret Spearman and Margaret Weigand were the highlight of her week. The staff at Springdale Country Manor treasured her smiles and good nature. Thank you to them for caring for our much loved and respected Mom.
Today we do not mourn the passing of Betty, we celebrate the life she had with Archie, and her family, Gill Tillmann (Bill), Faye Head (Randy) and Colin Ballantine (Bonnie). Betty was adored by her grandchildren: Andrew, Libby, Jack Tillmann (Sydney), Lianne Head (Matt) and Cameron Palmer (Jessica) and everyone brought into the family: Jessica Bushey, Lucas and Alexander Vanderbyl. She beamed with joy seeing her great grandchildren Tanner and Charlie.
Although the rest of her family lives in Scotland, they were never far from her heart. Auntie Betty was a favourite to all her nieces and nephews and relatives in the homeland and loved them dearly. Betty and Archie will be heading “home” to be together in Bonnie Scotland. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, Betty and her family would be thankful of any donation made to your favourite organization.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the family may be shared at www.comstockkaye.com.
