
Born May 2, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at Peterborough Manor on Friday, March 7, 2014, leaving behind her beloved children, son David Patten (Elizabeth) of Mississauga, daughter Catherine Ruth of Bracebridge, sons Paul Frederick (Judy) of Brooklin and John Henry (Gael) of Thornhill; grandchildren Alison, Brooke (Dave), Devin, Brydon, Lindsay, Joshua (Sara), and Noah (Braeden). Predeceased by her husband John Ernest Craig. Frances joined and served in the Royal Canadian Navy, following her brother Jack’s enlistment in the Canadian Air Force. She taught nursery school and public school J.K. in Toronto and Don Mills, where she and her husband brought up their children.
After moving to Peterborough, she continued her membership in the Unitarian congregation and volunteered and served on many community projects and committees. She had a great love and enjoyment of cottaging as much as possible at Stoney Lake with her husband and family. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Peterborough Manor and to Janice Adams, for their kindness and care. At her request cremation has taken place.
