Peacefully passed away, on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Ed’s House in Cobourg, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Margaret (née Houghton). Loving father of Jamie, Wayne (Elizabeth), Brian, Janet-Leigh (Walter), Margaret-Anne (David) and Glenn. Proud grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 23. Predeceased by his parents Ada Mae (née Stafford), William Pearce, step-mother Lila (née Gange), his brother William Gerald “Gerry” and his granddaughter Kimberly Morton. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Gordon was Margaret’s loving partner for 72 years. Gordon was an artist, stonemason, farmer, teacher, pilot, and traveller. He and Margaret raised 6 children and showed them much of our country, the US and took them on years long teaching assignments in Guyana and St. Lucia. He continued teaching until his early 80s.
The family will receive guests at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm. Followed by a service at 1 pm.
