It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Edward Tyler, on April 10, 2022 in Peterborough Ontario, after a brave fight against a chronic illness. Gordon is predeceased by his father Albert ‘Bert’ Tyler and his mother Ruth Agnes Mae Cochrane. He was a brother to Barbara ‘Barb’ Smith (nee Tyler), Beverley ‘Bev’ Allan, and Gary Reeves. He is also predeceased by his wife Frances ‘Fran’ Elizabeth Tyler (Yould, Lundin). Gordon was a loving father to three children Tina Tyler, Brenda Tyler (Griffin), and Richard Tyler, as well as a stepfather to
David Lundin, Ralph ‘Paul’ Lundin, and Carol Lundin. He will be missed by his grandchildren Angelika, Lynn-Marie, Scott, Sara, Nicole, Michelle, Shannon, Luc, Julian, Dillan and his great grandchildren as well.
Gord was born in Toronto Ontario (East York) on March 16, 1934. He was a retired member of the RCAF who dedicated years to his country moving all around the world from Toronto to Nova Scotia to Germany to Peterborough, where he spent his last years.
Following his retirement, Gord enjoyed being on the water, listening to classical music, drinking Merlot red wine, relaxing at the trailer, watching hockey, playing golf, poker and most importantly bridge. He was a devoted bridge player earning his title of a Diamond Life Master through years of playing and mentoring. If fate
allows it, he’s still playing bridge wherever he may be.
Gord was dedicated to everything heput his mind to. He lived a long fulfilling life and will be greatly missed.
