Herbert Alan Herring

.HERRING: Herbert Alan (Al), formerly of Toronto, with family by his side at PRHC Palliative Care on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 at the age of 81. Al fought a short and courageous battle with cancer from which we are in awe of his positive outlook, humour and strength. Beloved husband, constant companion, and best friend of Shirley. Cherished father of Christopher (Mary Ellen) of Peterborough, and Bill of Toronto. Poppy will be always loved and sadly missed by his grandchildren Glen, Kate, and Julia Herring. He leaves behind his sister Marion Bellamy of Toronto, his sister-in-law Sandra Brown of Vancouver Island and many nieces and nephews. Al was an avid stock-car racing fan which he passed on to his boys and proudly won the junior championship at the CNE in 1951. Special thanks to Dr. Vlasshaert, Dr. Giller, and Dr. Gillis-Doyle and the wonderful and caring nurses of B4 and the Palliative care unit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at KAYE FUNERAL HOME ‘MEMORIAL CHAPEL’ 539 George Street N., on Monday, April 25th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Don Genge officiating.
