Howard "Buck" Robertson

ROBERTSON, Howard ‘Buck’ - Passed away quietly in his 82nd year at Fairhaven LTC, Feb. 5, after a stoic attempt to rebound from a severe stroke in 2022…. Buck, an Omemee native, was well known, respected, and loved by many, never shying away from showing his passion for the fire service and desire to provide the communities he served with the best possible protection, first as a volunteer firefighter, and then in the position of Chief. We can’t forget, however, his love for the open road as a truck driver, and his sense of accomplishment tackling and conquering the snowfalls back in the day as a plow and grader operator.

Above all, Buck demonstrated a fierce love for, and pride in his family. He will be forever cherished and loved by his children Todd (Nicole) Robertson and Tanya (Paul) Stewart. In Grampa’s eyes the sun rose and set on his grandchildren, Mitchell and Taylor Stewart and Madison Robertson, who regularly show their efforts to continue Buck’s legacy. He will join his beloved wife, Theodon, father Gordon Robertson, mother Marie Wright, siblings Alvin (Brenda), Herb and Gayle Robertson, predeceased.

Buck will be remembered and missed dearly by his sisters Judy Dinsdale and JoAnne Wright, sisters-in-law Anne Robertson, Marilyn (Dwight deceased) Calvert and Cathy (Ford deceased) Calvert, and many friends, nieces, and nephews.

Don’t think of his death and be sad, think of his life and all that he gave, and be happy and grateful that he was in some way a part of yours.

A celebration of Buck’s life will be held 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (brief remarks at 2:30 pm) Sunday April 7, 2024 at Lady Eaton Elementary School, 17 James St. N. Omemee.
