Please accept our most heartfelt condolences on the passing of Joan.  We had the pleasure of chatting often with Joan and Art when we would visit with Paul and Kelley next door.  Joan always loved to share her bakings with Paul and Kelley which we ALWAYS looked forward to, such a treat!  Joan and Art made a point of inviting us all to join the Cavanagh bonfire on Saturday night which was so lovely until such tragedy took place.   

She will truly be missed in our future visits to Mystic Point.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. I went to visit you mother before she sold the house and we had a great visit. At church I would go to her and we would have a great laugh together before mass. Joan always had a smile on her face and she will be dearly missed. She is now in heaven with her soulmate Dick.My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God help you heal your broken hearts.

It was a pleasure working with Joan on 2 west. She was an inspiration to all. Joan was one of the kindest person I have ever know.

My sympathy for your loss.  I was lucky enough to work with Joan at St. Joseph's Hospital, for the first 7 years of my career.  She was the most amazing nurse, smart and so funny.  She had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable and important.  Her patients were in good hands.  I know her nursing students laughed as they were being pushed into the shower in their uniforms and then baby powdered on their last day of clinical practice.  I highly doubt that anyone can remember Joan without smiling.  She was the most amazing nursing mentor, who made difficult look easy.

To the family of Joan I send my deepest sympathy.
Not only did I have the honor of working with Joan on 2 West and experienced her whit,  humor, hard work ethic, laughter and of course her caring,  loving self. .. but I met up with her again when "Dick" was in dialysis 3 days a week as I was working there at the time. 
She meant alot to many,  many people and she leaves behind her legacy. 
I'm so very sad to have heard the news and I hope that with the large family you are that you'll eventually find peace in knowing she left doing what she loved the most, being with her family.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I was one of the lucky ones to be able to work with Joanie on 2 West until she retired. She was such a wonderful nurse, and could do circles around us all. Her sense of humour was incredible! You never knew when she might be playing a trick or two. She made going to work a joy. We always told her she should write her stories down and make a book....it would have sold off the shelves. 
I am very grateful to have known Joan.
