Joan Annabeth Ross was born on February 9th, 1947, in Peterborough, Ontario, to father James Conal Everrett Ross, and her mother Agnes White Ross (nee Kay). She married Terrance (Terry) Roy Preston on July 16th, 1966, at St. John The Baptist Church in Peterborough. They were blessed with three children during their marriage.
Annabeth was a hairdresser in the early years of her marriage, and went on to become a valued member of the staff at Sir Sanford Fleming College. Later she became an entrepreneur, a property manager, then finally a landlord for a few years. She retired to a senior living community at Parkbridge in Keene, Ontario. Annabeth enjoyed decorating, and was always happily engaged in repainting, refurnishing and reorganizing her surroundings. When she wasn’t busy with her projects, she enjoyed the occasional visit to the casino where she looked forward to the outstanding food and sometimes played the slot machines.
Mostly though, Annabeth was a supportive, amazing, loving wife and a truly outstanding mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was always her number one priority. She placed everyone else above herself, and was always there to give advice, to listen when needed, to lend a helping hand if required, and was the kindest, most giving person to anyone who needed her.
She is survived by her husband Terry, and her three children, Lisa, Carol, and Todd; her grandchildren Courtney (Kolin) and Kaytlyn; her great grandchildren Hailey, Preston, Emmett, Aryllia and Atticus; and her siblings, Richard, Robert and David. She is predeceased by her siblings, Paul and Lynn.
In accordance with her wishes, she is to be cremated, and a Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society in her honour.
