Kathleen Elizabeth Sampson

Kathleen Elizabeth Sampson, aged 91, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Centennial Place, a sympathetic long term care home in Millbrook, Ontario. Born in Halifax to Alice and William Murphy, she was a happy member in a close family of 12 children. Kathleen became a wife and mother at a young age, raising 6 children as a dedicated homemaker with a great fondness and skill for cooking and baking, sewing and gardening. As a military spouse she enjoyed time in the Maritimes and many years in Petawawa, settling there in retirement with her husband before finally relocating to Peterborough for her last 13 years.

A woman of faith who loved God, she was blessed by the strength offered by her religion throughout her life.

Kathleen was a loving wife to Henry Charles Sampson (predeceased), proud mother to Jo-Anne Parent (Tony), Ernest Sampson, William Sampson (predeceased), Stephen Sampson, Henry Sampson Jr. (Jennifer), and Kimberley Scott (Mark). She found joy and happiness through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to Community Care Peterborough or the Peterborough Food Bank, two local agencies that she respected and supported during her time in Peterborough.
