Keith enjoyed a good laugh, all desserts, keeping the gas tank full, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. A self-professed East City Boy, Keith moved from his birthplace “back home” of North Bay to Peterborough as a young child and promptly began his lifelong pursuit of making friends and memorable antics.
A voracious athlete, Keith loved many sports but had a particular affinity for football. Keith continued to share this love of athletics with his children and, recently, grandchildren.
Keith met the love of his life, Katherine (née Pearson) while working together at Mother’s Pizza; something stuck, as they celebrated their 46th anniversary this past year.
A Buyer by trade, Keith spent over 30 years working at Fisher Gauge and more recently, semi-retirement at Kingan’s Home Hardware. Although Keith took great pride in his work, his favourite job, by far, was being Dad to Jessica and Michael, topped only by becoming grandfather to Merlyn and Rosemary. Keith spent the last 4 years playing, reading, peek-a-boo-ing, laughing, and delighting in his granddaughters, receiving hugs, cuddles, and laughter from them until the very end.
Keith is survived by wife Katherine; children Jessica (Joseph) & Michael; granddaughters Merlyn & Rosemary; parents Bruce & Carol; brother Brian, all who will miss the heart and laughter he brought into their lives.
Keith’s life will be honoured on Friday, August 22nd at Ashburnham Funeral Home 840 Armour Road, Peterborough with a visitation at 12PM followed by a celebration of life at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, Keith requested donations to PRHC Foundation Cancer Care, who provided him with such excellent care during his hard fought battle with cancer.
