It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved father, uncle, and grandfather Leslie John Hume, who passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on July 31, 2024 at the age of 69 years.
Les will be sadly missed by his daughters, Melissa and Cortney, daughter-in-law Mel, and grandchildren Zack, Cooper, Hailey, Oliver and Morgan. He will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews Matthew (Kara), Michael (Lina), Patrick (Katie) Shannon (Graeme), Erin (Adam), and Bobby (Maddie), and great nieces and nephews Jack, Joey, Victoria, Asher, Beth, Emma, Max, Everly, Maisie, and Isla.
Les was born and raised in Peterborough. As a young man he enjoyed playing football and hockey. After high school he went on to become a Correctional Officer for over 30 years.
Les was known for his motorcycle riding, listening to Phil Collins, and his twisted sense of humour. He was stubborn and hardheaded at times but would always lend a hand and offer kindness to others.
The celebration of life will be a private ceremony with close family members. We invite you to make a donation to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation or Fairhaven LTC in lieu of flowers.
