Lorraine Margaret Baird

March 19, 1932- April 18, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce that Lorraine, peacefully and surrounded by her family passed away on April 18, 2022 at the age of 90.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Garfield. Cherished mother to Debbie Hughes, Gord Baird, Brenda O'Marra (Tim). Loving grandmother to Kristen, Tyler, Josh, Seannie, Kennedy (Dan) and great grandmother to Hardin. Dear sister to Gerry Murduff (late Marie) and Doreen Jaquith (Ed). Predeceased by her son Bill and her parents Stuart and Margaret Murduff.

Lorraine was a volunteer at the Alzheimer Society and had a huge passion for knitting, and everyone in the family has socks, mitts, and a hat as proof! A loving grandmother who spent countless hours spoiling her grandchildren with her quick wit, and always loving nature, with a little sharp tongue thrown in for good measure!

Lorraine was affectionately know as "Duff" to her husband, family and friends. Lorraine was an avid Blue Jays fan, loved canning and pickling, and was a weekly bowler in her younger years, as well as going with Garfield to the local horse races. And if you ever wanted to know what the weather was from the last century, she had it written down in her daily journal, along with the latest lottery numbers! Although, they never won big, their love and devotion to each other was their largest win.

The family would welcome donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Peterborough Humane Society as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.

There will be a private family service at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre. A public celebration of Lorraine's life will be held on May 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Brenda and Tim O'Marra at 2880 Jennifer Dr, Peterborough, Ontario.
