Lucienne “Lucy” Angela (Leclerc) Wood, born May 7, 1944, in Hearst, Ontario, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Lucy resided in Marmora, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, generosity, willingness to help those in need, family devotion, great sense of humour, and resourcefulness and resilience in raising three children.
She worked for Bell Canada. Away from work, she loved socializing. She found particular joy in games such as cards, horseshoes, and darts. Lucy loved being at the trailer and the excitement of fishing.
Lucy was predeceased by her first husband Edmund Noonan, the father of her three children; her second husband, Myles Wood; her sisters Elaine Lunau (Ray), Roxanne Leclerc, Louise Dynes (Fred), and Lorraine Caron (Mark); and her brother Michael Leclerc (Linda).
Lucy is survived by her children Michael, Steven and Nicole (Darryl Shaw); and step daughter Shelley (Sam) and her grandchildren, Alexandra Saunders, Dylan Saunders, and Mathew Saunders. She is also survived by sisters Linette Landry, Rochelle Leclerc, Gwen Jewel (Allan), Valerie Johnston (Pablo), and Dorothy Tasker (David); brother Jim Johnston; many nieces, nephews great nieces, and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON, K9H2A2, Canada, on June 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
Visitation will take place at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON, K9H2A2, Canada, on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
Interment will follow at Fraserville Cemetery, Cavan-Monaghan, Ontario, ON, K9J 6Y3, Canada, on June 1, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
Lucy’s final resting place will be at Fraserville Cemetery & Chapel, 1128 County Rd 28, Fraserville.
