Mary Frances Georgina McCarville Burd

Peacefully on August 21, 2025 in her 90th year at Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill. Born in Summerside PEI on December 17, 1934.

Fran is survived by son Brian (Joanne), step mother to Russell (Hannah), Kenneth (Elaine), Lorraine. Survived by brothers Ray, Lorne and sister, Mary. Sisters-in-law, June McCarville, Aggie McCarville, step son Steven, and daughter-in-law, Christine Burd. Predeceased by husband William and parents Parnell and Mary, Maude McCarville, sister and brother-in-law Edna and Louis Hagan, brothers Leo, Emmett and George and sisters-in-law Rita and Teresa and step son Steven. Frances will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family of little people and friends.

Prior to her marriage Fran was employed with Air Canada in Toronto, a very rewarding job. In latter years she worked for travel agencies in Peterborough that resulted in an interesting working experience and many friends. The friendships from the Newcomers Alumni Club also enriched her life. Fran enjoyed her home and garden. She was an avid bridge player and golfer and felt fortunate to be part of such a good group of friends. Her attention to older people and small children was admirable in her.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday August 28, 2025 at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough from 6-8pm. Cremation has taken place.
