Melville "Mel" Richard Headon

Headon, Melville Richard – With heartfelt sadness, peacefully at Extendicare Peterborough, with family by his side on April 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Noreen Headon (nee Stewart). Dear father of Cheryl Kralik (Walter), Nancy King (Peter) and William (Debbie). Predeceased by his parents William and Audrey Headon and by his son Robert. Grandfather of Leigh, Kyle, Laura, Robert and Kennedy. Great-grandfather to Nico and Ellya. He was the Branch Manager of EMCO and Past President of the Peterborough Construction Exchange. A proud Rotarian from 1965 and received the Paul Harris Fellow from the Peterborough Rotary Club. Mel was a longtime member of Trinity and Riverside Church’s for over 45 years and also longtime member and sponsor of the YMCA. He was an avid sport fan and a season ticket holder with the Peterborough Petes since 1973. Longtime supporter of the Blue Jays and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church, 360 Reid Street on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, in memory of Mel, donations to Trinity United Church or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street.
