Pamela Barclay

Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, March 11, 2011 in her 90th year. Loving mother of Edward Barclay and Stephan Barclay(Kerri). Dear grandmother of Kara Barclay, Ryan Barclay and Stephanie Barclay. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years Douglas Robert Barclay (1996). Pamela has taught watercolour and painted long enough to have been dubbed an expert on the subject. She graduated from a commercial art course in Toronto and then worked for Ontario Hydro as a topographical draftsperson. During the years that followed, she painted with many of Toronto’s better known artists, concentrating first in oils, then watercolours. As an artist Pamela found time to study her craft with 2 members of the Group of Seven. Pamela was a member of the Artist Workshop, Willowdale Group, the E.C.O.A.A., the Cape Coral League of Florida, the S.W. Florida Art Association and an international past member of the National League of American Pen Women Artist Inc. She also taught with the Fort 11 league in Florida in 1993. Her paintings have hung in many juried shows and in the Mathiasville Gallery, The Jackson Gallery, Whetung Curve Lake Gallery and the Village House Gallery. The family will receive friends at Cephas Christian Reformed Church, located at 220 Goodfellow Road, Peterborough, on Thursday, March 17, for a memorial at 11:00 am.
