Peter Anthony Josephs

Passed away with family at his side on November 21, 2022 at Hospice Peterborough after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving family: devoted wife Heather Josephs (nee Jeffery), son Michael Josephs, daughter Katherine Josephs, son-in-law Kristian Manche, his infant granddaughter Imogen, and beloved siblings, sister Anne Genge (Reg) and brother Don Josephs (Talia). Peter was born June 23rd, 1954 in Renfrew Ontario, to parents John and Thora Josephs. The third of three children, he spent much of his boyhood exploring the woods and getting up to mischief with his brother and friends. His father being a builder, they moved a lot, but eventually Peter’s family settled in Kingston, Ontario and he attended Queen’s University. There he met his darling wife Heather while on a scuba-diving excursion. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning, he enjoyed a long and prosperous career, starting in public service at the MNR and most notable were many years as a well-respected Planning Consultant, head of P. A. Josephs & Associates. He enjoyed western movies, 70’s rock, and a sip of Irish whiskey at the end of a long day. He formed cherished memories with his kids at the family cottage at Round Lake, a place he himself enjoyed as a boy. He fought his cancer bravely and to the bitter end, supported tirelessly by wife Heather. He will be desperately missed, and will live on forever in our hearts. Little Imogen now has the most doting and cautious guardian angel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Westdale United Church, 1509 Sherbrooke St, Peterborough on Friday December 16th, 2022 at 2PM; all are welcome to attend. A reception will follow in Henderson Hall immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Hospice Peterborough, whose angels in scrubs made his passing comfortable and dignified.
