What a remarkable, kind, generous, optimistic person Phyllis Moore was!  She was unfailing in every one of these attributes and I feel a well of gratitude to her today as I have through my life.

My late husband George first met Phyllis and her family as a boy of 12,when he spent time at their farm.Subsequently,over the years George and I,along with our children spent wonderful times with Phyllis.She regaled Andrea and Ian with tales of their father's escapades as a boy on the farm,and always showed great interest in what they were doing in their lives.
Phyllis was a warm,intelligent and compassionate lady and we will miss her.I know that the hearts of her family and friends will be comforted by a great many wonderful memories of a life very well lived.

Miss Moore, as we all knew her, taught and guided both of us through Teachers' College many years ago.  She had an uncanny memory for those she taught and for this we always felt special in her eyes.  She was a wonderful human being and we were blessed to have had her as our mentor.  Her little smile made us feel, so many times, that all was right.  Our thoughts are with the family at this time but please know that no one had a greater impact on our lives than Miss Moore. Phyllis was my teacher in grade 2 at King George School.  She was a very gracious lady and a fantastaic teacher with a wonderful memory.  In 2002 she heard my son David and my grandaughter Amanda(who has cerebral palsy) give a presentation on behalf of 5 counties children's centre.  Since that time she took a keen interest in Amanda and her progress even after she went to university.  We will all miss her as I know all of you will as well.

With heartfelt sympathy on the loss of a delightful cousin (Eric’s).  May loving memories, and the strength of her faith, comfort you in this difficult time.  Phyllis touched all of us with her warm hospitality – what child could forget visiting the farm, eating those Cheese Dreams and being entertained by stories of her travels?  Who could observe or play bridge against her and not recognize her top-notch skills!  Some of us were blessed to know her better than others, but we were all so pleased to visit with her at the Palmer Family Reunion in Woodstock in 2008.
Her inestimable service to others will be greatly missed.

Phyllis was a gentle soul and it saddens me to hear of her passing. I first met Phyllis in 1999 when she made a planned gift to Five Counties Children's Centre. Over the years Phyllis and I shared many stories about our past and what was going on in the present. She had an incredible memory, demonstrated by the fact that she recognized my mother's maiden name and remembered teaching her in public school. She said she had beautiful hand writing for a student. My mother confirmed these facts and was astonished that "Mrs. Moore" remembered her. Phyllis shared many a story about her travels, which I will surely miss. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and acquaintances.

We were sorry to learn of Phyllis' passing. She was a woman to be admired for many facets of her personality and character. I was always proud to know that I was related to her. Such a gracious person, with well reknowned hospitality. We will miss her. We would be glad to attend her memorial service, if that was possible. Our condolences to you all.
