Raymond George Allen

Raymond “Ray” Allen of Newcastle, Ontario passed away peacefully at his beautiful home in Wilmot Creek on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario; 3rd born to Russell Allen and Lauretta (Marchen). He had 2 older siblings, Margaret and Donald. Donald passed in his 80’s and Margaret lives in Peterborough and will be 98 this year. Ray raised 3 children with Barbara (nee Maudsley); Donna, Kathy and John. He was Grampa to Kristin, Derek, Kirk and Laura and Great-Grandpa to Hunter, Hayes, Holden, Parker and Jett. Ray worked for Outboard Marine in Peterborough for 35 years and when the plant closed, he worked for Gen Auto Shippers until he was 65 years old.

In 1972, he became a horseman, fulfilling his passion. He owned and trained many horses until he was 80 then moved to Wilmot Creek Community where he enjoyed playing pool, watching the Lakers play baseball every Wednesday, touring the community on his gold cart and watching golfers finish their 9th hole right outside his back door and would invite them in for a drink. Ray left this world a very happy man.
