Reta Irene Hartwell

July 12, 1923 – December 5, 2022

It is with great sadness that the Family of Reta Irene Hartwell (née Polk) announce her peaceful passing on Monday, December 5, 2022 with her family by her side at PRHC, in her 100th year.

Beloved wife of the late Victor (1971). Loving Mother of Elaine Hartwell, Douglas Hartwell, Deborah Murphy and Susan Lang (Tom) and Mother-in-law of Barb Hartwell. Predeceased by her son Robert Hartwell (2001) and granddaughter Meaghan Hartwell Kerr (2020) . Daughter of the late Ethel and Lester Polk of Port Elmsley ON. Predeceased by sisters Mildred Armstrong (Polk) and Lillian Pearl Polk. Proud Grandmother of Richard Windeyer (Kim), Jonathan Windeyer (Janet), Jennifer Paulus (Ralph), Ryan Hartwell, Jacob Lang (Brittany), and Jessica Lang. Loving Great-Grandmother of Dax Windeyer, Ryder Paulus, Remy Kerr, Otis Kerr, Samuel Lang and Oliver Lang. Lovingly remembered by her many Nieces and Nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1pm at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, Peterborough ON. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough ON; followed by a Reception in The Parish Hall of St. John’s Church. (COVID protocol: Masks are optional)

The Family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate Staff of the Palliative Care Unit at PRHC, especially Dr. Morelli and Dr. Blake; and to the caring Staff of Hilltop C at St. Joseph’s at Fleming for their care and support of Mom.
