Robert Alexander Witty, 60, passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in Peterborough, Ontario, on March 23rd 2026, after a battle with cancer. Born on July 30, 1965, in Toronto, Ontario, Robert spent his life rooted in the communities of Fairport Beach, Oshawa, Peterborough, Bridgenorth and later Huntsville—places that shaped the man so many knew and loved.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his ability to make people laugh, and the way he brought lightness to any room. Robert was a devoted father who truly loved spending time with his children, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Robert is survived by his loving children: Paige (Jonathan) Scott of Bancroft, Elizabeth (Zech) Hockaday of Gilmour, Grace (Josh) Vlieger of Bancroft, and Carter Murdy of Huntsville. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kennedy and Maya Scott of Bancroft. He is survived by his mother, Valerie Witty, and predeceased by his father, Howie Witty, as well as his brothers, Jimmy (Michelle) and Brian Witty.
He will be deeply missed as a father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
