A truly gallant hero to us and a generous father who never let us down, or anyone else. He was that type of guy. Peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Joseph’s At Fleming at 86 years of age. Loving husband of the late Effie McMillan (1990) for many years. Beloved Dad of Michael Dennis (Kirsty) of Ottawa, Sally Riley (Hugh), Connie White, Lori White (Jim) all of Peterborough, Judy White of B.C.. Special Gramps of Kyle, Russell, Matt, Alex, Benson, Grace, Tess & Isaac. Survived by his sister Velma Guthrie (the late Donald), the late Lloyd (Cathy) and the late Ronald (the late Barb). Russell will be missed by Effie’s family and his nieces, nephews & their families. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the chapel of COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Interment will take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by Russell’s family.
