Shirley June Townsley Brown

A devoted wife, mother, and cherished grandmother

Born July 7, 1928, Shirley was the youngest of 6 and the last of the Townsley family to pass. She passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the age of 96. She was ready to go to heaven to be with her Lord & Saviour and to be reunited with her late husband, Thomas Brown (2014) and her granddaughter, Julia Margaret Walker (2020). Shirley will be forever loved and missed by her children, Shelley (Alf) Price, David (Susan) Brown, and Suzanne (Karl) Klassen. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Shirley remained independent at Applewood Retirement Home until the end. She was always present and part of all our lives – never missing a birthday and taking the time to write us all letters throughout the years. She loved her cottage on Kennisis Lake, where many wonderful memories were made.

Shirley was a member of the Edmison Heights Bible Chapel. Throughout her life, she drew strength and inspiration from her faith and leaves a legacy of faith for her family and future generations. She was faithful to pray daily for her family and friends and always turned to prayer during difficult times.

In lieu of flowers, Shirley would want you to turn off your devices and get outside to enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna that God gave us.
