Shirley Marion Hurren

HURREN; Shirley Marion (née St. Peter) ~ Passed away peacefully in her 88th year at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on November 17, 2022 surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her loving husband Morris in 2017. She is survived by her children Dean (Jill) and Gail (Mike Jones). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Nicole (Steve Burton), Mitchell (Kara) and Tim. Also adored by great-grandson Kenny. Predeceased by her brother Ivan, sister Dorothy (Jack). Fondly remembered by brothers Ted, Grant (Beth) and Arnold (Pat). Shirley was born and raised on the farm in Eldon Township marrying Morris on June 30, 1956. They moved to Television Road in the 1950s and there they raised their family. Shirley was a committed, caring mother who was always there for her kids. When Dean and Gail were older, she worked in the kitchen at Marycrest Seniors Home. Shirley and Morris were integral parts of the neighbourhood community on Television Rd. Shirley was always a great friend to others, whether that be the neighbours on Television Rd, or more recently her friends at Peterborough Retirement Home. The family would like to thank the staff at PRHC on A4 and Palliative Care plus the staff at Peterborough Retirement Home. Also, special thanks to the neighbours on Television Rd for their friendship and unwavering support for our family. Visitation will be held at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Thursday, November 24th from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Bolsover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Good Neighbour’s Care Center, Peterborough.
