"Eternally Devoted"
On Saturday October 18 at 2 pm, a Celebration of Life was held for Shirley Munro at her place of worship, Edmison Heights Baptist Church. Attended by over 60 people, Shirley’s family and church family celebrated Shirley, who leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, and community service. A woman of deep religious conviction, she embraced life with independence and courage, never fearing (only embracing) the journey beyond this world.
Throughout her 88 vibrant years, Shirley faced many challenges with unwavering resilience, embodying a spirit that inspired all who knew her. For over two decades, she lovingly tended the community garden at the churches she attended, dedicating her time and energy to nurturing the earth and feeding those in need. Her garden was not just a source of food, but a symbol of hope and generosity in the community.
Shirley’s faith was her anchor, and she welcomed the idea of heaven with a peaceful heart, confident in the promise of eternal rest. She leaves behind a community enriched by her kindness and a church strengthened by her devotion. Thankfully, Shirley found peace, serenity and belonging in her garden and church community, where she shared in strength, trust, devotion and fellowship. She gave from her heart and never asked for anything in return. The truest of Christians. She overcame unnecessary challenges and found her way back to her church, and was saved. Rest in peace, Mom.
