Stephen Gerard O'Connor

O'CONNOR, Stephen Gerard- It is with deep regret that we announce his sudden passing at his residence on Friday March 4th, 2011. Steve O'Connor of Oshawa in his 55th year. Steve was a social worker employed for many years at Hillsdale Manor and other facilities in the Durham Region. He was an active community volunteer for many organizations over the years and participated in various charities. More recently Steve volunteered at the Oshawa Food Bank. Beloved son of the late Joe O'Connor and Camilla Dillon. Dear brother of Jim (Marie) of Peterborough, John O'Connor of Toronto, Anne Marr of Belleville, Frank O'Connor of Peterborough, Marg (Jack Weir) of R.R. #8 Peterborough, Irene (Vic Chevalier) of Welland, Mary Atkinson of Peterborough, Bill (Lisa) of Toronto, and the late Paul O'Connor. Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Always a kind and compassionate person, Steve was known as "the cottage guy." He spent many happy summers on Crystal Lake. Special thanks to John Duvall & Paul Pratt for their friendship and support over the years. Now at peace and re-united with his mom. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date.
