Terry was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in Toronto to Doris and Jack Manley. He is survived by five siblings: Larry, Bernie, John, Joy, and Pat (brother Jimmy, deceased).
Terry grew up in Uxbridge and attended the University of Toronto where he graduated as an x-ray technologist. He enjoyed a rewarding career working in the Bahamas, Toronto, and Peterborough Civic Hospital.
He went on to have four children, Rebecca (deceased), Aimee, Kris, and Kate (Trevor) whom he loved very much. He married the love of his life, Marion, where he accepted with love four more children: Michael (Michelle), Susan (Ed), Sarah (Thomas), and Rachel (Ben).
Terry loved camping, and in later years, the comforts of a permanent trailer on Pigeon Lake. He enjoyed our many trailer friends over the years. The highlight of his days were when his eight grandchildren came to visit and interact with Grandpa Terry: Hannah (Chad), Maria (Adam), Evan, Micah, Megan, Abby, Emily, and Jackson.
With the recent addition of our great grandson, Charlie, Terry had a chuckle over the dancing videos sent to us recently from Mom (Hannah) and Dad (Chad).
Everyone who knew Terry knew him to be a happy, positive, kind man.
Terry attributed this to his faith in the Lord and the peace and joy this relationship provided him. He wants you to know he is in the Lord’s presence, pain-free, happy, and walking perfectly - no walker needed.
A service to honour Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at Northview Community Church in Peterborough, at 1 p.m.
Donations:
As many of our circle know, Terry was born with cerebral palsy. When he started the chemo journey at PRHC, he met pharmacist Arron. We learned Arron had a young son with cerebral palsy. Terry felt a real connection with Arron, recognizing the struggles that come with such a diagnosis.
Pharmacist Arron and his wife have created a website to raise funds to install an inclusive playground to be built in Ennismore this spring for special kids with special needs. If you wish to donate to “Jude’s Joy,” you can send donations by e-transfer (For more information, visit: Ennismore Inclusive Playground Project - Jude's Joy). Or you can make donations to Marion and she will direct them to Jude’s Joy. Terry did not have the opportunity to play on special playground equipment for special kids back in the 1940s. He would appreciate any contributions to this project to make life more enjoyable for special kids like Jude. Thank you.
And thank you pharmacist Arron, Doc Sharif, and Lady Navigators for the wonderful care and hope you gave Terry. You are very special. God bless you.
