Wallace Wally Leroy Menger

It is with great sadness that we announce Wally’s passing, on March 6, 2012, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Joanne Heath-Menger. Loving father of Tracy Menger-Evans (late Rick) of Keswick, Dana Menger (Conny) of Westport, Shelley Courneya (Allan) of Aurora and Gary Menger (Judi) of California. Cherished grandfather of Daniel, Joel, Kyle, Michelle, Nigel, Scott and Elyse. Predeceased by his former wife, Pie Atkinson. Wally had many different careers throughout his lifetime. As a teenager he built hydro towers. He served as police intelligence in the Air Force, based in France. He spent much of his career as a highly successful Snap-On-Tools dealer and Manager. After retirement he went into business with his brother-in-law, Greg Montpool, and later formed Menger Art, selling prints to art galleries throughout Ontario. Perhaps his proudest moments were those as an officer with the OPP. Wally loved spending time at the old family cottage on Fletcher Lake. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm. With visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, prior to the service. In memory of Wally, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
