Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Fairhaven on July 28, 2017 shortly after celebrating his 100th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (nee Raybould) to whom he was married for 70 years. Loving father of Sandra Gunn and her late husband David, Darlene Davis and her husband Bryan, Wanda Terefenko and her husband Steve. Proud grandfather of Linda Marman and her husband David, Douglas Gunn and his wife Tonia, Donald Gunn and his wife Vicki, Amanda Tanasescu and her husband Simon and Amber MacNeil and her husband Jon. Dear Great grandfather of nine. Predeceased by his parents James and Rose Gates and his siblings James Gates and Elsie Ross. Sincere thanks to the staff at Fairhaven for their patience and support while caring for Bill. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 566 Armour Road, Peterborough. Inurnment at Little Lake Cemetery to take place following the service. If so desired, donations in memory of William may be made to the charity of choice.
